In a world marked by stark inequalities, I’ve reimagined the classic ‘What a Wonderful World’ with new lyrics, titled ‘An Uneven World.’ These words reflect the disparities we face and the hope for a more equitable future. It’s a call to rethink how we approach value creation, pushing beyond traditional boundaries to uplift everyone. Let’s explore what it means to envision a world where everyone has a fair chance to thrive.
“An Uneven World”
(To the tune of “What a Wonderful World”)
I see skies of grey, and walls so high,
A world of dreams, that never fly,
And I think to myself,
What an uneven world.
I see streets of gold, most can’t explore,
Where wealth is hoarded, behind closed doors,
And I think to myself,
What an uneven world.
The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,
Are only for the privileged, who have the means to buy,
I see hands reaching out, but they’re turned away,
While some keep on taking, more and more each day.
I hear cries of need, and hearts that bleed,
For a fair chance at life, beyond the ego’s greed,
And I think to myself,
What an uneven world.
Yes, I think to myself,
What an uneven world.
But I dream of a time, when we can stand side by side,
A world where every person, has a fair chance to thrive,
Where we honor each other, lift each other high,
And create a future, where everyone can fly.
Yes, I dream to myself,
Of a more even world,
Yes, I dream to myself,
Of an equitable world.
From Uneven to Even: A Vision for Change
I wrote these lyrics because I care deeply about people and the world we’re shaping. Inspired by Dale Carnegie’s wisdom, I know we can’t ignite real change unless people understand that we genuinely care for them. I created RoundMap—to offer an alternative to a system that favors only a privileged few while ignoring the call for equitable opportunities and a fair share for everyone.
These lyrics reflect my belief that we must change how we do business because the path we’re currently on is destined to harm the lives of many. The disparity we see today, where some have access to streets of gold while others can only look from afar, is not just unfair—it’s unsustainable.
Through these lyrics, I aimed to capture the stark reality of our unequal world and cling to the hope that we can do better. We must ensure everyone is given a fair shot, irrespective of their starting point. This is about recognizing the potential in each person, looking out for one another, and striving for a more balanced and just world.
I hope that by sharing these words, we can initiate a dialogue about the imperative need for change. This change ensures that business benefits everyone, not just the privileged few. It’s time to make this lifetime count, to be remembered for the decisions that uplift everyone, and to find purpose and success together. This is the world I envisioned when I penned these lyrics.
